Tap/Jazz Combo - ages 3-6
Ballet / Jazz Combo - ages 3-6

Little Elves-Ages 2-31/2

Our youngest ballet class introduces our students to the magical world of ballet through fairy-tales, acting, imagination, and costumes.

Little Fairies (3-4 1/2)

These classes are open to girls and boys ages 3-4.5 years old. Little dancers love to move and pretend, and we utilize these natural tendancies to gently introduce them to the dance world. Dancers need to work in their own body space and wait their turn, they need to learn to respect the studio, the teacher and understand what each piece of equipment in the dance room is used for. Young dancers absorb this while listening to different kinds of music, and dancing with scarves, tambourines, singing songs. The teachers will introduce basic ballet positions, age appropriate stretching exercises and correct posture in a positive and creative environment.

Dancing Princesses

Calling all princes and princesses—it’s time to enter the world of “once upon a time.…” Our young dancers start the class with story time, featuring tales from Disney Princesses and Classic Ballets, followed by a ballet lesson. They can become fairies or princesses ... animals or insects ... flowers or feelings. Children learn to express themselves through the physical joy of dancing to music. Whether they are dancing with scarves and ribbon twirlers, practicing their princess walk, or skipping with a partner, every class is a joyful introduction to the basics of classical ballet. Each month will have a different theme. The American Academy of Ballet Syllabus is introduced at this age.

Blossoming Ballerinas / Level I

An exciting Ballet class that introduces the fundamentals of ballet technique. Students are encouraged to use their creativity while learning to follow directions in a more structured classroom environment. Along with building strength and developing poise, students become familiar with the music, stories, costumes and unique characters of the great classical ballet and Disney Princesses in this advanced Fairytale Ballet class. The American Academy of Ballet syllabus is taught in graded levels to students in these levels.

Ballet Levels I & Up

*NEW fall 2011*
Through this performance curriculum (AAB) all of our ballet dancers learn basic through advanced variations of ballet from August through June of each year.  Each ballet student is encouraged to embrace the opportunity to be tested and to achieve a certificate of excellence for each level, beginner through advanced. Students progress and excel through a level each year to create a stunning portfolio of achievement.

American Academy of Ballet Performance Awards will be held the end of each June. All ballet students with two years of experience are encouraged to participate. Each year a student participates they receive a stronger sense of their own strength and advancement in ballet.

This technique focuses on strength, technique, fluidity, balance, extension and emotion. Choreography uses movement and expression to convey the meaning of the lyrics of the music. For those dancers who have no desire to enroll in classical ballet, contemporary is seen as a great alternative.
