Single Class Per Week
1 Class - 45 min. - $55
1hr. - $60 per month
2 Classes - $110 per month
3 Classes - $150 per month
4 Classes - $165 per month
5 Classes - $180 per month
6 Classes - $195 per month
7 Classes - $210 per month
Unlimited Classes - $255 per month
Tuition rates are for the full season (mid August - early June). Tuition will not be pro rated for any reason. Tuition payments are non-refundable for any reason (illness, weather, holidays, etc.). There will be NO PRICE REDUCTIONS FOR classes not attended by students. Tuition will be the same whether your child's class meets 5 times in a long month or two times in a holiday or transitional month.
We accept enrollment year round but cannot guarantee recital participation for students enrolled after January 15th .
Sibling Discount: We will deduct $10 off monthly tuition per additional child/parent after one regular price child/parent is enrolled.
A $35 new student registration fee ($25 Returning Students), due at time of registration. This fee holds your place in the class and is non-refundable. Upon registration parent/student agrees to abide by ALL policies set forth by Backstage Dance Company. Tuition is due at the time of registration or on the first of each month for those on a monthly payment plan. Tuition is due on the first regardless of studio closings, missed classes, etc. A 10% discount is offered for full school year students if tuition is paid in full by the first week of classes.
Attendance & Class Placement
Consistent attendance allows teachers to help progress your dancer in technique and allows us to best prepare our classes for performances. By registering at Backstage Dance Company, you are committing to our studio, the faculty and fellow students.
Class Placements: In order to maintain consistent skill levels within each class, your dancer will only be placed in classes that meet their age and/or ability.
Weather Related Closures
In the event of inclement weather, BDC class cancellations follow Knox County School District closings. We post cancellations on our instagram, facebook, as well as email everyone. There will be no make-ups for these missed classes - refunds will not be given.
If our area is experiencing severe weather, please call the studio at 865-524-2300 at least one hour before your scheduled class time. There will be a recorded message giving updated information about studio closings. If the Knox County school system is closed during the day, we will not have classes during the evening. Road conditions, teachers traveling distance and studio parking lot conditions all come into play regarding our decision. Remember: the safety of our staff and students is MOST IMPORTANT!
We work hard to make the dance experience organized and fun. Keeping you informed is one of our primary goals. Email is our main form of communication.
Newsletters and important studio information is emailed. Information sent through e-mail will help you stay up-to-date on studio due dates, upcoming events, and monthly activities. Please be sure to check your junk/spam mail and add us as a contact. Follow us on Facebook and lnstagram for additional updates.
It is our goal to provide a positive & supportive learning environment. As member of our studio, dancers & parents should be positive representatives of the studio in our community. Negative comments/actions will be grounds for dismissal from our programs. Students and parents are expected to be respectful and courteous to each other and Backstage Dance Company staff. If you have a concern with our program, dancers/parents, or faculty, please schedule an appointment with our director Talia Childers.
Tuition is automatically charged either to your credit or debit card on file and will incur a 2.5% processing fee OR can be deducted from your checking or savings account without the processing fee. Tuition is billed on the 1st day of each month.
Please Note: ALL studio fees will be automatically billed on their respective due dates. ALL students will be billed for recital fees unless written opt-out is received by the due date.
Maintaining a dress code:
Promotes focus and a stronger work ethic in class.
Allows instructors to clearly see and adjust body placement, position, and alignment.
Students work harder and stay more focused when outfitted properly for class. The studio is a special place with a special dress code. All students are to adhere to the BDC dress code for each class. Many thanks for your cooperation! For your child's class requirements please check with the front desk or in the Bella Boutique.
For all your shoe and apparel needs we are happy to refer our students to our in house boutique, Bella Dance Couture. Our staff will professionally fit your child for both shoes and apparel. Find something cheaper somewhere else. We will price match!
Dress code requirements will be provided upon enrollment.
Recital dates are June 6th and June 7th at the Clayton Center, Maryville.
Each class will be in only one show. Shows will not exceed 2 hours.
Students enrolled in more than one class may be in more than one show.
Specific show and rehearsal assignments will be posted in the studio, on the website, and emailed to families in early February.
Single Genre Class (ballet, tap,jazz, hip hop, etc) $160 includes recital fee and one costume
Recital Fees are not included in Tuition. A deposit of $50 will be charged on October 15, 2019 and on November 15, 2019. The remaining balance will be charged on January 15, 2020.
Combo Class (ballet/tap, ballet/hip hop, etc.) $230 includes recital fee and two costumes
Recital Fees are not included in Tuition. A deposit of $70 will be charged on October 15, 2019 and on November 15, 2019. The remaining balance will be charged on January 15, 2020.
Students in more than one class:
Each additional class after the first will have a $100 costume fee. A deposit of $50 will be charged on October 15, 2019 and on November 15, 2019. Any remaining balance will be charged on January 15, 2020.
Students registering for one class after October 15th, 2019 will be assessed a recital surcharge of $50/$70.
Students registering for one class after November 15th, 2019 will be assessed a recital surcharge of $100/$140.
Students registering for one class after January 15th, 2020 will be owe recital fees in full at time of enrollment.
If you must withdraw from a class, tuition fees will continue to be debited from your account until the studio receives a written letter of withdrawal. There are NO refunds given for discontinued classes or missed classes. We hope that each student will complete the year, but if a student should discontinue a class a 30-day notice is required. A WITHDRAWAL LETTER must be submitted to the office by the 1st of the month to stop the next month’s charges to your account. Any withdrawal forms completed after the 1st will be considered dated as the first of the next month. Monthly tuition is computed on the entire school year and divided into equal monthly payments and is the same each month, including those shortened by holidays, etc. Phone calls, phone messages, or verbal notice are not accepted as a form of withdrawal. Payments will continue until you notify Backstage Dance Company to discontinue them.
